Being the first ever victor of Wanderband competition, The Ransom Collective came out as a huge surprise to the Indie community. I remember being there at the finale in Glorietta. They were the last band who played. When they started their cover song, a huge part of the crowed screamed while I, who have never seen and heard anything about them just said Sino ‘tong mga ‘to? in a more curious rather than disbelief tone.
That Wanderband price started it all. After that gig, I started seeing them headlining different prods in various bars.
Fast forward to May 20 2017, their most loyal fans find themselves filling The Palace Pool Club in BGC for Kian, Lily, Leah, Jermaine, Muriel, and Redd for the launch party for the band’s debut album TRACES.
The album launch started earlier than the usual gigs the band would play at. At 4pm fans flocked The Courtyard of The Palace Pool Club for the Meet & Greet session. At least a hundred people lined up to meet The Ransom Collective up close and have the CD signed as well.
Tandems ’91 opened the main program at 6PM followed by Tom’s Story and Ourselves the Elves.
About 700 people attended the TRACES album launch and filled The Palace Pool Club with good vibes throughout the night.
The Ransom Collective’s TRACES is now available on Spotify, iTunes, and Deezer. You can also buy a copy of the CD for P500.
